TAMARA KRIEGER
Great minds think alike!
You have individual style and want to surround yourself with beauty and inspiration? You prefer the unusual and unique over the mainstream? You appreciate humour and sometimes enjoy the wild romantic? You want to explore your creativity? Then you have come to the right place.
I have been working as a visual artist for over ten years. I have an affinity for castles in general and the royal in particular. These themes are often reflected in my works.
I enjoy combining things that don't belong together and love curiosities in every form. Everything that fascinates, inspires, and occupies me flows into my art.
My magic formula is paper, color, and glue
Or in simpler terms: I tear papers from magazines and books, glue them onto the canvas, add color, and thus create connections where there were none before.
At first glance, my works consist of components that seem to have randomly come together. However, upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that each detail is carefully selected to achieve a harmonious composition.
Catalogue of spare hands and feet
It is hardly surprising that in my studio, hundreds of paper pieces are stored in drawers. Neatly organized by color. All of them have been carefully torn out of printed materials to bring them back to life on the next painting. When selecting the snippets, I am interested in the object, the shape, or the texture.
Colored patterns are particularly suitable. Shapes with recognizable features such as eyes or hands also important components of my works. For the latter, I have put together a catalogue of all kinds of extremities and body parts. So I am always ready!
I love browsing flea markets!
I find my materials there as well as in second-hand stores. I am always on the lookout for vintage magazines, old books, stamps, and other treasures. Everything comes home with me. It then piles up in my studio until the day come when an old piece of paper becomes the star of my show. Something that was destined to be unloved and discarded will rise in my works like a phoenix from the ashes. This is how I create works that connect the past with the future.
My aim is to spread joy!
I want to connect, inspire, touch, entertain, and spread joy through my actions. Whether it's through my artworks, my videos, or with my workshops and art events. Life is too short not to enjoy it on all levels! Preferably, with a glass of Prosecco in hand.
Thanks for visiting my world!
Warmly yours,
Tamara
